New project - lotus elise

Absolute weapon, I'd love an S2 elise (or a VX220). Was very tempted by an S1 but apparently the chassis legs can rot basically writing the car off - didn't fancy that!

Haha....only a couple mate.

I wont be doing the conversion myself but i'll try and ask the company who does it to get some pics a long the way

if you need any help or advice give me a shout... ive spent 3 years messing around with the conversion. who are you going to get to do the initial install ???

the bonded alloy tub that forms the corner stone of the chassis is pretty damn well protected against corrosion. the rear subframe is steel and the extended chassis legs (longerons) are alloy too and can all be easily replaced.

where steel parts are attached to ally parts these obviously need to be protected against electrolytic corrosion (like the old landy defender would suffer with) this is usually down to poor assembly without using an insulator such as duralac.

the chassis is basically the same construction as a commercial aircraft shell, I would expect a well maintained one to carry on going strong for decades without any anti corrosion treatment.

if any major damage occurs to the main alloy tub, its basically scrap!
