New Irish Tax on an ek9???

alright lads,

do any of yee irish lads know what the new tax amount is going to be on an ek9 for 12 months???

i presume its goin up quite a bit. not looking forward to it,:angry:

just paid mine so im free till next december.

jesus thats day light robbery!!! costs me £190 (ish) for a year and thats to bloody much if you ask me!
 
190gbp???!!!! mate here in cyprus we pay 56cyp for an ek9 & we think that expensive!!!
 
Now you guys pay tax for a year is that considered what we pay for registration in the states...because it doesnt matter what we have its usually the same depending on what state you live in. Since im in New York, i pay $35 bucks a year to register/ have plates for my car. If you want special vanity plates its $85 Then to insure the car is another thing, but im sure you guys do that as well. When you buy your car, do you pay tax also, then pay tax every year, or do you buy your car say for 5000 its just 5000. Im just curious

not quite sure what youre asking but here in ire:
we pay vehicle registration tax(vrt) which is about €3000 on a 00 ek9 (once off payment for plates etc)
and then we pay road tax each yr which is about €400

we dont pay tax wen we buy a car if a car is say 7000euro then we pay 7000euro no tax on top of that....tax over here for our cars is used to maintain roads ie fill in pot holes stuff like that(think or tax money goes somewhere else tho cos our roads are ****)

our money isnt exactly going to good use by looking at the state of our roads:angry:

iv broken 2 wheels cos of our roads 1st one i was doin bout 80kph down this road an my gf was tlkin to me an i looked at her for a sec an bang i hit a pothole....2nd wheel i was drivin into town an there was a new man hole put in the road but instead of bein level it was stickin out the road bout 2 an a half inches an i couldn see it prop cos of poor lightin in the area....our roads are a disaster they dig up the good roads then for no reason an leave them in a mess....our tax money is jus goin down the goverments back pocket:angry:
