How to install a HID system


Not seeing your HIDs doing that to the car. Sounds like you had a bad battery connection or your main fuse is bad. This would give off the same symptoms. Hids only pull 12 to 14volts from your electrical. Most car audio systems pull that but a shed load more amps which is worse. I would check your connections and your main fuse see how you go. Your 8k bulbs will be with you tomorrow shipped them today for ya.
 
i think my hids broke something last night on my car
never had a problem with starting my car. had my hids for a week. turned it off last night and EVERYTHING went off, interiors lights the lot. couldnt start the car. not even jump start.
so i had to push it home lucky i was just round the corner
then i tried starting in the morning still nothing. rac came round an hour later or so and it worked straight away

whats up with that?

I would say that your HID system is not causing the problem just its coinsidental! not having anything like lights or power would put the problem down to your battery, if you can test your battery and find out how many volts its holding and what its like when your cars running might give people a better idea!

Otherwise to rule out your HID system remove the fuse or fuses on the HID's and see if the car starts!

it sounds like you have to do some elimination work first!

its it my hids and its not my hids lol
basically my mate who installed the hids used an existing earth and didnt tighten it up properly. It is fine now the rac noticed it and cleaned and tightened it. i forgot to look at that :(
im going to clean and replace all my other earths aswell
 
im with you mate, they do seem very tempremental.. there are some very very good standard bulbs out there now, phillips do some very good ones
