Civic EK3 (JDM)
Hello Guys,

I recently bought a 1999 JDM civic with D15B 3 stage Double VTEC. I just discovered that the driver's footwell (RHD) gets very hot after driving for 10 - 15 minutes.
For mods, it only has a 4-2-1 exhaust manifold and note that the AC compressor does not work.

Has anyone experienced this issue and knows what may be the solution?

Thank you.

Is your heater on, funnelling air to the floor?

No everything is off. I can look into it tomorrow and update the thread.

If your climate temp is set to hot, it will allow coolant to flow through the heater block. Even if the climate system is 'off', unless it's in 'recirculate' mode it will still allow fresh air inside the car. That air will be hot if the temp selector is on hot, even if the fan is off.

The only car I've driven that had a naturally hot footwell were Cayman race cars, and that's because the coolant hose runs inside the central tunnel, right next to where your foot sits on the throttle pedal when at full throttle. It gets quite uncomfortably hot.

Check if your heat sheild is installed. I cant fit mine in with the larger exhaust for my turbo and my feet get rather toasty to the point I cant drive in trousers in the summer
