does anyone know if the handbrake warning light on the EK civic is just for the handbrake or does it act as a brake fault light to?

mine wouldnt go off this morning so just wondering. suppose it could be a dirty switch but not sure how to get to it if it was etc

check your brake fluid level, and have a play with the sensor float in the brake fluid res cap, , mine does this from time to time

Mine done it once when i had F*** all left on my front pads think the level was droping to low coz of no pad material check them to whilst your at it.

rear pads look a little worn but seen alot worse...front look fine....brake fluid looks fine to.

when my girlfriend picked me up last night the light was off...half way home ( i think after using the handbrake) the light came back on.

thinking a dodgy switch maybe???
do you have to remove the handbrake cover etc to get to it???

by "looks fine" are you sure it's actually within service limits both the pad thickness and the fluid level or are you giving your best guess here?

Is the fluid level between the min/max line? Or closer to the min line?

To get to the switch, you need to remove the cover.

lol i meant as in i have seen worse. there was an advisory on my last serivec that the rears had about 8k left in them so its very likely to be them.

pretty sure it aint the brake fluid, thats right up to the max line.
