Just installed new grooved Mtec discs with Ferodo DS2500 pads and all bedded in. Just started to go on spirited drives again and have noticed that these pads are ok when cold and normal braking but if I need to brake hard when cold I don't really get good response and have to be carefull. Once I get them warmed up they are fantastic but 5 minutes without touching them and cool down I start to get that weak braking again. It's like they have to be regularly applied and up to certain temperature to get that good bite.

Anyone on here use these pads and have such an experience with them? Could the ABS have an influence in such behaviour? Seriously considering removing the ABS at the next service.

I used DS2500 in the CRX. Had no such problems you are encountering. They had plenty of bite no matter what I was doing.
When you installed them, did the pad move freely in the carrier?

I didnt install them myself so i wouldnt know but pretty sure my mechanic knew what he was doing and installed them correctly. I also refurbed the calipers with all new seals if this makes any difference. The feeling i get when i step on the pedal when cold is like a bit of a long travel before i feel it bites and when i lift the pedal and step on it again i do get much better braking and if i do it again then i get some serious bite. After that i dont need to keep lifting and pressing to get good braking power as it seems the pads would have warmed up nicely. A few minutes of cruising without touching the brakes and i get weak bite once again. I'm also thinking the Mtec discs have not had enough work on them and bedded in. I must have made like 300km with very light use as instructed on their manual.

Sounds more like the brakes were not bled properly? Is there enough brake fluid in the reservoir?

They should be all bled properly but i will check the reservoir and probably have them bled again just to be sure. Thing is im really loving these pads when they perform, so much better than the Stop Tech pads with so much less brake dust. Just need to confirm if this is normal that these pads need to be warmed up so much before they really perform.

No, the Ds2500 do not need warmed up to work. They are used a lot in the hills and sprints community here.

Something's wrong from my end then....will check out the bleeding once again :(
