Defi coolant guage install need help

Ok I got my car yesterday and I had already bought new spoon rad hoses but te car has a defi guage wired to the upper rad hose with a sliced connector( I will include picture). I don't want to cut a piece out of my new spoon rad hoses where can I locate the sensor from the guage pictures would help me greatly. I'm assuming I could use some brass t fitting and tap into somewhere.

Can take it from the oem coolant sensor(gauge) location on the head.

Is that the sensor with the single wire? If so do you know what size pipe thread it is or if it is pipe thread?

That's the one buddy, single wire.
I can't be sure but if it is pipe thread it will be BSPT.
I think I've got a spare in the garage(broken) if I can remember I'll try and measure it for you but from vague memory it's not a pipe thread.
