city lights?

guys I live in the US and I am planning to buy a Ek9 headlight. I was wondering how do I wire the city light socket? Are they suppose to light up the wholetime the headlights are off? or do they only come on with the parking lights or how? or do they turn on the same time the side markers turn on? i do have side markers that are wired to turn on at night when low beam is on.

they are supposed to be wired into the parking lights I believe.
