Carbon Loraine pads for ek9 fitment

Ah bit of a thread revival but what are these like compared to project mu hc+?

Just got them through the post Monday, I'm on track on the 15th and can do you a little review if you like?
I've only ever run EBC yellow on track though so can't compare to other proper track pads

yeah that would be great to be honest I've never liked ebc's
don't suppose you know the range of friction coefficient of the CL rc5+ and rc6 one's couldn't find it mind you a lot of the time the tech spec and real life performance unfortunately tend to differ

0.7 comes to mind? Don't quote me on it. Should be on the cl website

I run yellows and like them,
I have some ds2500 to try next when these are toast though!

I have always had the yellows, they've done pretty well for the price. But for some reason I toast them in no time. They are smoking after 15mins usually.
Matt has them in his and he gets on great with them aswell, I'm just not keen on the Change in pedal feel when they get hot.

Ah that's some serious friction oh just looked it up CL Brakes - Products - Cars - Product range so .4 average for rc5 .5 for rc6 ah I'd be keen to see how someone gets on with the cl ones your getting rc6's for 15th so let us know please :)
oh I've melted some pads in the past mainly on rears motor factor crap but ebc's offered about the same performance for me at 4 times the price mind you could easily get through a set on a dry hot trackday may try some ebc's for the road some day but for the price like its over £100 for front and rears posted that's yellowstuff I'd happily pay double for + waiting for delivery dunno what taxes will be like PMU HC+ 800 Front + Rear Brake Pad S2000 AP1 AP2 Civic FG2 FA5 RSX DC5 EP3 TypeR | eBay
but still need to fit the s2k brakes :p
I've an ek4 so dunno if my tiny rears would be the reason I kept melting them still they stop well on track
Carbon Lorraine are more expensive then pmu even CL ek4 set is more expensive than s2k pmu set or am I looking in the wrong place where did you source yours?

Oh and I thought it was quite normal for brakes to smoke heavy on a trackday :)

Yep can't complain about them.
Could lock up my r888 easily enough. No fade and it was a hot day

I drove to the track day with them, next to no noise at all, alittle squeaking but not all the time or loud

Good to hear. Im currently running Mintex M1144 and i was pretty impressed with them on KH, noticed very little fade with OEM.

I might look into these pads for next time, as they are similar priced to the M1144.

I also noted the Pagid RS Carbon Range...but not sure if thats far too much overkill for the 9.

Honda Integra racing brake pads from Pagid.

If your particular about the paint and wheels dont use the RC6. The hot filings off the discs embed themselves into paint really easy.

The RC5+ IMO are the best compromise.

RC5+ , RC6 are in a different league to ds2500

How about vs DS3000?

What disks would people recommend for these pads?

These are probably going to be my next set of pads, but don't fancy ruining my disks. I'm currently running oem Honda.

I've got mtec discs. I wouldn't worry about buying expensive discs with these, unless your endurance racing? I couldnt fade them

Cheers. I just plan on doing the odd 2-3 hour tracknight.

Yeah just the cheap discs will be perfect, I'm running these pads daily ATM because I can't be bothered to swap back to road pads then have to swap back in 2 weeks for the ring. no noise and cold bite is as good as any pad I've used.
I love these pads!
