guys, anyone here have a picture of a type-r intake/exhaust valves? I want to know what difference do they have in the b16a oem valves.

Thanks

All the B series valves are the same size. There is no difference in valve face diameter between an dc2 integra type r valve and a B16 valve. The stems are turned down slightly on the dc2 integra type r valve in the port bowl area, and that is the reason that they are lighter. Otherwise, they are the same.

I think the exhaust valves are the same, but please wait for other users feedback.

What part of the valves are you interested in?
These are dirty, sorry, its been soaking getting ready for cleaning.

As rvm points out, they are the same, which is what I understood as well.

RVM is right ,

Exhaust valves are the same but the type r intake valves have a thinner stem (5.5 down to 4.6mm) , this reduces weight by 12% but also improves flow in the intake port !

thanks for the info guys, I had a jdm b18c-r swap and been using it for 6 months; but until now i've never seen the valves, I'm planning to replace the cylinder head gasket this weekend. I just wanna be sure that i got the real type-r valves. thanks for your help now I know what to look for.

I'm using b16a head. Now I plan to change my b16a head because. There is some white smoke when vtec engage. My mechanic suspect my piston o ring problem (mechanic suggest to change new piston 81.25mm and mild block bore.) The other hand I ask previous owner of the car ( he say before the car pass it to you, I change the piston and ring. He suggest me to change the head, maybe valve seal problem) My engine part are type R except head is b16a. I think he sell to some one. In this case what should I do? if go for what mechanic suggest will be cost about $927. if go for previous owner suggest will about $150. Who will be the best bet? any suggest? Thank You

PS: I thought B18cr valve size is bigger than B16b, that's what my friend told me

(I'm sorry that asking question in this but I lazy to open a thread)

You should first check for any valve stem seals / headgasket leaks, thats the first thing you need to do. Also I do recommend making a compression test in all 4 cylinders to see if there is something wrong.

I don't think you have a piston ring issue since when you have a piston ring problem you'll see blueish smoke coming out of your exahust. :nice: good luck my friend.
