'96 Spec ITR Rear Roll Bars

I just finished fitting an ASR rear brace and Skunk2 LCA's to my EK4 and I had what I thought was a '98 spec ITR rear roll bar and a set of reducing washers designed to let me use EK9 drop links. The roll bar plus drop links doesn't fit by several inches. The guy I got the roll bar from now says that it might be a '96 spec one.

Is there much difference between the '96 and '98 versions or do I have some other problem?

Im only assuming that the above has something to do with your issue.

Thanks for the info. The difference in rear track is probably part of the problem as the ends of the bar are pretty close to the shocks.
