** ALL PICTURES AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ADVERT **

2001 Honda Accord 2.2 Type-R in Nighthawk Black.

This car has been meticulously maintained by a fully qualified time served mechanic.

This is a QUICK Accord Type-R in terms of acceleration and handling.

If you know about the Accord Type-R you will know what problems they are notorious for, and this car has had EVERYTHING replaced and more.

Dont be fooled by other ATR's with less mileage, engine wise they are bullet proof as long as there serviced properly and the oil level is checked and topped up. These cars use oil, every ATR uses oil, so if another seller tells you it doesn't use a drop, he's pulling your leg.

Ok the spec,

2001 Honda Accord 2.2 Type-R.
132k ( 100k was done in the first 2 years 2001-2003 )
Full MOT
5 months Tax
FHSH ( Extensive folder too )
Limited Slip Differential
Leather Recaro Interior.

Parts replaced within the last 6k,

5th Gear Sync ( notorious ATR transmission failure ) the cost at a Honda Dealer for this repair is over 1000 pounds.

Exedy clutch ( A clutch from Honda is nearly £400 )

Lightened 9 lb flywheel.

Timing belt, auto tensioner and balancer belt ( another problem with the atr is the worn auto tensioners ) cost from a Honda dealers, £500 minimun.

Full Service including ALL fluids and filters, Ht leads, Distributer cap, rotor arm, plugs, coolant, gearbox oil, used Silkolene Fully Synthetic Ester based Oils.

EGR plate, EGR Valve, VTEC solenoid, Throttle Body serviced.

Valve Clearances checked and adjusted every 2k ( ever drove an atr that's sluggish ? this is why )

This is just friendly advice, if you buy an ATR that hasnt had the gearbox, clutch, timing belt and tensioner, valve clearances, EGR parts and a full service, expect to pay a minimum of £2000 extra on top of your purchase price, because these parts WILL fail.

Ok, now the other part of the spec.

Engine and Gearbox oil changed every 2-3k with only the best quality oil available on the market, Silkolene Fully Synthetic Ester based oils.

I have spent a FORTUNE on this car including modifactions.

KW coilovers
New Front Discs including mintext extreme pads.
Braided brake lines
2 Wheel bearings replaced.
Throttle Body Coolant Bypass
Hondata Inlet Manifold Gasket
Crankcase Breather
ARC Induction ( The BEST induction for the ATR )
5Zigen Header
Lightened Flywheel
Oil Catch Tank
Magnecor KV85 HT Leads
Vortex Decat with o2 sensor spacer
Full Stainless Steel " properly designed " exhaust
Blitz R-Vit monitor/controller
Leather Recaro Interior

The car is sitting on Bridgestone Potenza RE050's ( which were designed for the Accord Type R ) on the front, and Toyo Proxys on the rear, both sets have at least 6mm of tread ( 8mm new )

I have just ( last week ) had the wheels and cam cover refurbished in anthracite chrome powder coat from Metal Magic in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

Good ICE including Rockford Fosgate Sub and Amp, Kenwood in dash DVD player, Ipod adaptor etc etc which is negotiable and not included in the for sale price.

The overall condition of the car is very good for the mileage, as I am very keen on the detailing side of things. For 130k its really really good but not perfect, as its done 132k.

Reason for sale ? well everyone says " genuine reason for sale " I am selling because I am now a student again at approaching 32 years old, and I simply cannot afford to run the car, hence why I need to sell it or p/x or swap for a diesel or a EK9

I have ummed and r'd about selling the car for months, but ive decided it has to go, however please dont call offering me 4.5k for the car. Ive been in the motortrade all my life so ive heard it all before.

sorry about the very long delay in frequenting the forum.

The car is still for sale, a few things have changed, mainly Apexi tuned to over 200whp.

The car makes the trip to 60mph in sub 6 second sprints.

Im currently " detailing " the car as we speak. So more pictures and an updated advert will be appearing shortly.

Still interersted in an EK9 :)
