I'm not sure where it is on the EK9 but it's under the bonnet on my DC2. I'm guessing it'd be the same? I could be wrong. HTH

I used 4mm spacers on my EE8 didn't have any issues, I even did 1/4 mile. Don't know if ek9 studs are the same length though?

To reset the ecu you have to take the fuse out for the ecu, I think it's a 15amp and also take the backup fuse out too. Leave it out for about 5-10 mins then put the fuse back in and start the car but don't touch the throttle. Let it idle for about 5-10mins. Hope this helps :)
