What would i Civic 4dr 1.8 vti be like ? 2000 x reg ? Handling/perfomance wise would it be worth while looking at? There cheap compared to any other quick honda!

I had a 1.8 vtec civic new shape (type s) for two weeks in dec and it was rubbish! Struggled to get past 125mph and it didnt feel stable at all!

My mate has a del sol sir and up against my old e30 325i it was exactly the same speed. More or less identical 1/4 times. Just a pain to get the 325i off the line so he pulled away a bit if I got it wrong ! Do they do the civic with the same engine then? What would a I'm spec vti be like around...
