First, I'm not trying to be a douche. If you already have the box off and open you can calculate your final drive by counting the teeth on the gears. There are many websites that have the required formulas to figure out your final drive/gear ratio based off of this. A quick way to verify this would be to count your teeth and compare the numbers against someone who knows for sure they have a 4.7FD, math wouldn't be involved then.
This would let you know for certain, without a doubt, what your final drive is. Math doesn't lie.
Other than that, there may be a serial number some where but chances are you wont be able to see it without taking it all apart.
The gearbox is on the car at the moment. It was more something to change over winter. The car has been all back together since about march.
