Hello all, can anyone advise me as to what hubs to get, I've looked for hub centric ones but I'm so confused please help :please:
Nik

Wheel spacers and hubs are two different things, for starters what car are they for and what spacing are you after?

I went to edit this but I don't know what happened, I got 5 studs and I've heard you can get spacers that have 5 studs on, if that makes sense I'll be amazed

Right all the spacers do it add on to the track of the car
Smaller ones 5mm kinda size will just be a plate that sits on the hub and then the wheel sits on top of that
How far are you wanting to go out?

I want to space the rear wheels out on my Ek9 i realize that will upset the handling but for now I just want it to look cool :D I heard you can get spacers or a hub with longer wheel studs, I have searched but all I'm getting is 4 stud conversions very confusing

I don't think 5mm spacers would effect the handling, I was on about something else, I'll post a picture when I get some, I'm not very good at explaining myself lol thanks guys :D

There are plenty of spacers for 5xstud out there, 3mm, 5mm & 10mm are the common ones. The cheaper ones are universal fitment and are not hub centric, the dearer ones are PCD-specific and hub-centric.

You can probably get away with leaving the standard studs in place with the 3mm ones, possibly the 5mm, but 10mm spacers will need extended studs.

With anything about 5mm or so you will start to run into problems with the tyre rubbing against the wheel arches... which can be fixed with running more negative camber via adjustable camber arms. But then your car will handle differently... could go on but think I'll stop ther.

So, if you really want wider track just for looks and want to keep things real simple (& cheap), use 3mm universal spacers and keep it at that for now.

Finally, after any suspension change, you should get the geo reset.

anything over 3mm requires longer studs - trust me, i've tried it and i measured the available thread and even with 3mm it's tight

all depends on what wheel offset / width / tyre width / spacer size you want to run as to whether it will rub or not

i used to run the front wheels spaced out 10mm on each side on my track ek9 and worked great (combined with a heap of other parts and specific geometry settings)

You can get bolt on hub centric spacers... these bolt to your exsisting wheels studs and have new studs pressed into them which you mount your wheels to, but these are alot wider, 20mm each side at least....
