can you stick the front plate behind the front window legally? i mean rather than on the front bumper. i have always wondered this as i see alot of jap cars with the plates behind the front window.

does anyone know what the scottish law is regarding this? or has anyone been pulled over for doing this?

thanks

Id say ask VOSA or the likes for a written answer so that if any problems occur you can produce this

Just take it off and keep it in the car for if you ever get stopped. Would look stupid sitting on your dash.

If you get stopped, " Sorry officer it was hanging off in the carpark"

Job's a goodun

Who knows exactly what the law is but i had police threaten to drive mine away because the rear plate had a jap flag in the corner of the plate. JDM haters!!

well mine fell off on thursday, stuck in the window. drove past a po po car with 4 officers in, they all looked at me i gave them a cheeky nod and they didnt do anything lol

but always depends on the officer

The blurb.....

Check that there is a registration plate both at the front and the rear of the vehicle, and check each one for security and condition.

Your plate isn't going to be "secure" if it's sitting on your dash is it?

must be legible by a person standing approximately 20 metres to the front/rear of the vehicle

Glare off a windscreen isn't going to make this easy eh?

check that the registration plates are fixed vertically, or as close to vertical as is reasonably practical

It's not going to be mounted very vertical jammed in your dash

Whats the point in attracting unwanted attention to your car? Just run a front plate :)
