What would the bhp be?

Alright lads,

Not 100% sure if this is the right section so mods feel free to move if so..

Anyways I'm looking and a bog standard 98 ek9 with 40k on the clock :)D)
If I get it, the engine mods im thinking of doing are your usual spoon mani,decat, full mugen twin loop system, and probably a J's racing filter or drop in panel filter..anyways how much extra bhp would that give? Would it bring it up over 200bhp?

No, most ek9's dont even make the factory 185BHP on the rolling road over here. That is down to a number of things like fuel etc. Its not all about numbers. Do wanna just be able to say that you have a 200BHP ek9 to your friends. I'd rather have the 175 bhp one that could eat it on the quarter mile;)

Nope, was just wondering what bhp the mods listed would add. I have no desire to pull bhp figures outta my arse just to brag I would acutally like an ek9 with decent reliable power.:)
 
i think the question you are asking is that if it would make a noticeable difference? and worthwhile mod?

and its yes it frees up alot of the engines potential, definately noticeable difference between stock and moded cars. HTH

They are my only engine mods that i've planned but no doubt ill end up buying a new ecu, cams and everything. :D

Well the mugen twinloop and the j's are both a good piece of kit, you cant really go wrong with them. Ive had them both and they both great in there own way:)

Dead on bud, where do you get your stuff from here? CDA? ProParts?..would I be better off buying online?
 
I've dealt with CDA and Nick there is a very nice guy. I usually buy online now a days to be honest. No specific site though....
 
just to throw it in here i wouldnt go paying through the nose for a mugen twinloop/j's etc....the likes of 5zigen will be alot better on the pocket and be equally as good:nice:

getting rid of the glanza to buy an ek9...good move,a big step up imo

I know, turning to the dark side!!:shocked:.. yeah I've been looking at the likes of Apexi, Buddyclub, DC etc and they seem to do similar quality stuff for near half the price!..I'll worry about that when I get to the engine mods though, coilovers and better braking will be first on the agenda!:nice:

what is your budget for ek9?
 
Well hopefully ill shift the Glanza for about 5k..so my budget would be about 9k for an ek9 maybe 10 if i pushed it..know of any??
 
Man thats cheap for a 00..ill see how much it is to register the car in Ireland and then get back to ya..fancy a p/x on a 97 glanza? :p
