Weird idle

Hi guys,

Everytime i rev my ek, it would raise then drop - then raise again on its own before becoming steady again. The video link

Any idea what causes this?

Had the same problem in my Daihatsu. Dunno what causes it, but I got it readjusted so that it would idle at 1,000rpm and more. It would never drop below 1,000, like your car is doing there.

I dunno what my uncle touched in the engine bay to fix it, but make sure car is all warmed up before you touch it.

I'd check for a leak in the vacuum hoses.

Could be a number of things try your tps

I would screw off the Idle Active Control Valve (IACV) at the back of the inlet manifold and give it a good clean with some carb cleaner, worth a try!

^x2 with the above. more often than not, if its never been cleaned then it will be clogged up with soot and crap, simple and easy to do! was the cause of some idle problems on my car.

Could this also bring up the engine light?

Thanks for the reply guys.

Ive tried cleaning the iacv, tb and intake. It doesnt bring up a CEL, and it never used to do this. I sprayed for vacuum leaks, and couldnt find any. The tps was also replaced when i got a new throttle body.

Any more ideas :/

Adjust your TPS sensor, just did this on my mates B18c and it worked a charm!
