Weird clunking noise when I tap accelerator?

Can anyone help, i have a 1998 EK4 VTi-S, and when i am driving, at any speed in any gear, so for examples sake say, 25mph in 2nd gear, i smoothly tap the accelerator for about half a second and take my foot off again, and after about half a seconds delay there is a clunk noise coming from somewhere in the engine bay area, sounds mechanical, its a B16A2 engine with an S4C gearbox if that helps...

any ideas?

any thoughts will be appreciated!

yep rear mount id say.the honda ones are pretty weak,put your hand on the intake mani and give it a pull to see if theres movement in the engine.

right...do i feel stupid...

the front wheel was really loose!...well at least it wasn't a mechanical fault...
