Hi, just bought a facelift totally standard ek9 (aparantly) today, goin really good but my vtec doesnt kick in till about the 6200 rpm mark, i thought it should of been in at 5800ish?? Worried incase its not a b16b engine, probs fussin over nothing tho

6200rpm is right for the B16B.

5800rpm is B16A, B18xx etc.

Check the ECU code...

v-tec kickin in at 6200rpm sounds good to me thats were its ment to be on a std ek9. like said abuve cheak all them and if u have drove an b16a2 then u will know rite away by they note of the v-tec in a b16b its got a very crisp noise compaird to the b16a2

i knew the b16a and b16b were different but have NEVER heard anyone mention a difference between facelift and pre facelift. i know mine kicks around the 6k mark.

Yep mate the vtec engagement points on the prefacelift and facelift are slightly different

6200 rpm for pre-facelift, 6200 rpm for the facelift. The setup is exactly the same in both versions
