The VTEC Challenge organisers (R-motion) are building several 98 spec JDM Integra Type R Race Cars which are available for purchase to run in the 2012 VTEC Challenge Race Series. These cars are eligible to run in the 2012 Production Class and given their spec will be very competitive. Thanks to our sponsors the cars also come with a host of new parts!

Cars are available for outright sale - you get the V5 and you are free to do with it as you wish. The only stipulation of sale is that you enter at least 5 out of the 7 VTC rounds in 2012.

These are ready to race cars with full 2012 MSA approval. Cars are also road legal so can be driven too and from the race track if so desired! New MOT will be supplied on purchase.

Just out of interest, will these come with an MOT. Just thinking of another thing that could be a selling point. Therefore they would only need tax to be driven on the road.

Cracking idea though, very well priced too! Im tempted! Need to do some reading on the entry costs!

Is there anything to say if you breakdown at any point there is any help just incase some people are driving them? I'm just thinking of the 5/7 tie here.....

Damn. Fantastic idea, and a Fantastic price. Fair play guys yet more top work! :nice:

Yes they will come with an MOT but tax is optional.

Entry costs

Registration for the series £250 (BARC & Series registration)
Entry costs per round £300 (so 5 rounds is £1500)

Obviously we will warranty the cars against major mechanical failiure for road use for 31 days but after that there wont be any official help - but as some of you may know, we have a great paddock atmosphere so if there is a problem on race weekend everyone is there to help, plus we bring a few spares as well

if only this would of been offered last year before i poured about twice that into mine lol great price

Sounds a cracking deal to be honest. If I hadn't started building my ek9 I'd be all over this. I'd rather spend £1500 on racing rather than modifying!

Nice idea Mike, Wouldnt it of been a little cheaper if you started with a 96 spec base?

Irf

brilliant idea. £9k to buy a race spec'd car, and to race it 5 times in the VTEC challenge. bargain money folks.

irf - probably 98 spec chosen for ease of getting different alloys etc and having greater brake setup as standard.

As above, the 98 Spec has lots more goodies (4.8FD, Bigger Anti Roll Bars and Drive Shafts, Bigger brakes etc etc), plus you tend to find the 98 Spec ones are generaly in better condition, so it seemed the obvious choice :nice:

Also, we have 11 DC2's outside (UKDM and 96 JDM) and they are all pretty ropey when you start to look closely, so didnt really want to add to the pile :))

Great idea this guys & I'm sure u'll get a few taking you up on this!:D

You know how eager I am to get out there in the VTC & would love to take one of these if funds would alow (but if I was to have my "own" race car you know it would have to be a EK9 )

I am looking to do my ARDS test eairly next year & hope there is a seat I can rent for a round or two in 2012 :naughty:, just untill I have cleared a few debts to build/buy my own.

Beautiful, i think baffled sump should be mandatory just for insurance :)
