You got any idea how much that's gonna cost to insure before you buy it? My bro is 21 and looking at his first car now - insurance quote for him was £1900 on a 1.3 EG, let alone an LSi!!

i wouldn't say your too early for A car, just maybe not that car. manly because when you get driving you want a car thats easy to insure and get experience in. As we all know civic's arent exactly the strongest of cars should the worst happen. Also as your learning to drive its only natural that mistakes will be made, reversing into things, kerbing alloys etc... i would rather have a crappy car for the first while, just incase. Than have a good car getting dinged up. :nice:

Rite so i went to look at it and was disapointed with the condition it was in.... So came home that nite and sat down and was thinking had a chat with my bro and ive a deposit put on a SiR 2 now, so all in all im alot happyer now with this, i will post up pics when i collect it.. Not a bad car for a 16 year old:D working my ass of has payed of at last ha..:nice:

Have you checked to see what the insurance is!?! That will be very expensive to insure..... but good purchase anyhow.

sir for a 1st time driver? ul never be able to insure a vti never mind a jap import

1400cc should be what your looking for instead
ej9 would be ideal,
they' ll laugh at you if you try to insure a sir!

on the other hand,160 horses plus, of vtec?? i don t think you could handle it:nono:

and would you know how to handle it ??:blabla::blabla::blabla::))

how bad lad sir for first car...get the parents 2 insure it and off u go ...

Lads i dono how but its down as a 1.6 straight on the book so insurance will be very expensive but at least i will get insurance as its not down as a vtec.. i will be paying insurance the lot myself!! And she's up around 185bh theirs a good spec on it, i will be taking it easy anyway till i get used of the roads and stuff so ill manage it:nice:

Lad none of my cars are down as vtec on the log book.. Just down as 1595cc. That is the way they are put down. Also insuring wrong is a complete waste of money cause your not actually insured then. Just a heads up

Muiris is right. 160+ bhp at 17 years old is way too much. Most lads are morons at that age especially in a car. I know i was! It would be more sensible to buy a 1.3 and get some experince driving it, get some Ncb and when the time is right go get a 1.6. Its all well and good going and buying a car like this but you also have to consider the cost of insurance, tax, fuel and maintanence and whatever else. Its not cheap. Im not trying to knock the lad, fair play to him for wanting a car like this and probably saving hard for it but he should think about whether or not its realistic having a car like this at 17.
