Thruxton Trackday.....

My day yesterday thanks to the girlfriend.

Got my practice in this:

The Formula Renault was alot of fun! It was my first time on a track and with 458s, Aventadors and Astons all out at the same time I was happy that I didn't get overtaken. In fact I managed to pass an R8 and a F430 in my practice laps which was pretty ego boosting (yes, I know it meant they were being driven by slow coaches ). Overtaking some exotica in an oversized go kart is also quite a laugh.

Got to meet Tiff Needell and being on the track at the same time as him in a new M3 was..... interesting. He passed me sideways on entry to the 1st complex

I'd really recommend it and Thruxton is a very fast circuit so very fun.

Look really good fun fella. I've got a drift day I'm going to an really looking forward to it I was goin to do something like this but found most didn't offer much time driving, did you get a decent amount of time? Bet it's made you want to do more track days?

The day was:
2 x Passenger laps in Cayman
3 x Drive laps in Cayman
5 x Drive laps in Formula Renault
1 x Passenger in Mazda 3 MPS

For what the Mrs payed I think it was great value - she got an online discount. TBH I wouldn't do the supercar experiences. I could have payed another £60 to get another 5 laps in the Formula car, which doesn't seem too bad.

3 passenger laps with Tiff was £145 though!! Which I think was crazy. Poor BMW, was in and out of the workshop all day, lol.

I think the new 86 will be seeing a couple of trackdays for sure now!! I can imagine the drift day will be good fun!!!
