Test Pipe Questions

i recently bought a skunk2 megapower r 70mm exhaust and ran into problems on the install because my cat its so covered in rust. and instead of going and paying the incredibly over priced fees at the local muffler shop im buying a skunk2 test pipe. now my question is this am i going to have to make any modifications to how my o2 sensor is in like a cel eliminator or can i just pup it back in as it was
 
If you're o2 sensor is located prior to the catalytic converter then removing the emissions part will not get you a CEL/MIL. If you have a secondary o2 sensor after the cat then yes you will need to mod the exhaust with a CEL eliminator.
 
Your car isnt a EK9 I take it? as they only have one 02 sensor located at the end of the exhaust header/manifold before where cat bolts up.
 
no ive got a '99 ej8 and the o2 sensor is in the middle of the cat. and i only went 70mm because im planning on running an itr with high comp pistons as soon as i have the money

Are you sure it's a 02 sensor and not a exhaust temp. Sensor instead? Have seen these in the cat of a few cars and the guys in the exhaust fitting shops just tack weld the sensor to outside of decat if there is no fitting point.
 
thats only a temp sensor as vtec6000 said just earth it underneath the car to keep the warning light off,doesnt effect running whatsoever.
