Hi guys,

I'm looking into buying one of these coilovers.

If you have used any one of these or both, please let me know what you think of them.

Thanks.

Got the Zero2, quality of the kit is excellent. Only 5 damper settings - one of the reasons I bought them, not too much fiddling. On the softest (1 all round) the ride is firm but not hard or 'crashy'. On track at Brands I cranked them up, very impressed with the performance (Had Avo Roadsports & KW v2's before), not sure on the max drop on them but I didnt buy them to roll like a badger, so mine is down only a touch for the road - yet to drop it for the track. Got mine at a great price, most places are charging way too much, I have seen the trade price and even when factoring in overseas delivery its taking the piss tbh.

Thanks Haitch

I'm looking for one that is better performance wise..

Cusco Zero 2E are almost 20% more expensive than the Tein SS....and the springs also seems seems like they are harder than the Tein SS.

Anyone who used Tein SS???

Tein SS is like Stock Type R but better. Setting the damping to max makes them feel pretty stiff. I'm going back from Monoflex to SS + EDFC.

Heres a teaser pic I took 2 nights ago.

i run Tein SS (with pillow top mounts) and really impressed, they don't go silly low but low enough, firmer than stock, less roll but not too harsh :)

there's a side view, standard 195/55/15 tyres, front suspension wound right down and rears still have about 20mm thread left. sits nice, just a tiny arch gap side on :secret:

superstreet typeflex or monoflex which one is better for uk roads? is it worth paying a bit extra for typeflex or monoflex?

monoflex is the most hardcore but is supposed to give a better ride than all thanks to its micro valve technology

When i bought my tein SS i tried to buy teh front pillow top mounts but they told me (and the catalog states that) that there arent available for the EK.
Where did you get them?

If thats true, then you wont find the type FLEX pleasant because MONOFLEX makes my car feel very crashy! Although they are better for lowering than the SS, the SS is just much easier to live with, just like the stock Type R sussys. :nice:

CSB: Pillow mounts are available for EK9. Can you see the pic I posted of my kit? Those are upper pillow mounts SS. Its the EK9-R model type. I'll post a pic of a close up when I get home.

Jugbugz the ek4 and ek9 tein ss are the same , right?

Actually right now I've got yellow konis, but the front shocks are gone.

Nope. EK9 has its own specific model. Theres EK/EJ, EK4 etc. Sorry, I'll get that pic posted when I get home.
