hello guys,

I have a Jordan, I have purchased some spoon calipers by the way.

I want to replace the discs, and I need to search for pads for the calipers,

what can you recommend I get, its not used on track, but I want a fast street sort of set up as such?

I can only assume, spoon pads to match calipers? Discs, I would like drilled and grooved, but not sure on a brand?

Also, is it ideal to run OEM rear pads and rotors, and just upgrade the front?

OEM/Brembo/Mtec blank discs with oem honda/nissin or yellow stuff pads will work great for your requirements. Keep same discs pads all round.

Never go for drilled or grooved, it's all a mimmick to make it look cool and fast behind the alloys..They have a tendency to judder and crack also majority are machined onto the discs which weakens them. Proper drilled and grooved are casted not machined.

I use mtec blank discs on my turbo dc2 work great and more importantly retains pedal feel. Hth

Pretty spot on here, Although I will say that grooved discs aren't a mimic in the way the grooves help keep a clean contact area between the disc and the pad by clearing the debris created by the pads, First hand experience and the reason why I switched to MTEC Grooved discs, No more nasty debris build up - no more shudders :nice:. Although this will only be noticed on track generally.

Some good info. here:

Third vote for mtec and oem nissin pads all round. They have taken a fair beating for the 18 months ive had them fitted and still no judder or any sign of warping. Cant go wrong for the price.

Also The oem pads seem to last for ever and are a perfect fit in the carrier unlike some generic "semi-performance" pads ive tryed in the past.

slightly off topic, but ive been told/read many a time that these are designed for racing and to be rebuilt regularly, not road cars - but everyone seems to run them with no issue...
is it just a myth?

What's designed for racing?

spoon calipers
Yeah i dont think abs works with spoon callipers, and apparently they are a bit grabby and lock to easily for the road. But as you say plenty of people seem to get away with them.

Not that i would know. Way too baller for me...

I'm doing discounted prices on discs, pads and hoses throughout October. I'm sure I can sort you out with what you need :D
