Looking to grab the slowest scooby, the GX 2.0 non turbo, considering the insurance was so cheap and it'd be a decent car to have for the time being I'd say...just wondering if they are bad or good cars in terms of reliability? thanks

dont do it :p why get a wanky non turbo? when for the same dollar u could get a decent golf tdi or something!?

My mate use to have a classic non turbo sport.

It was a good car. No problems at all.

just be careful mate a lot of scoobys have been ragged. I used to own a version 5 type r, and i paid bug money and still came with problems from previosu owner not doing things properly

Because volkswagens are boring, common as muck and dull as dishwater to drive. Just to name a few negatives, and they aren't exactly reliable. :nono:

This is true,
But then again - type r's are generally ragged to hell also.
Poor cars.

i personally wouldn't bother with a gx. even turbo scooby's are pretty boring to drive. type RA was good but not a fan of the rest. drove a 2.0 wagon non turbo recently and it felt sluggish. especially low down. and they drink petrol. and even more common than VW's (atleast in my area)
well thats my 2p anyway. at the end of the day. if you want one you should just get one.

Appreciate the feedback, I saw a super clean one and need a car at the moment. Wanted an eg but no one is selling a good one unfortunately. I can't afford a boosted scooby the insurance was quoted 3-4k at the minimum..

Dude have a look around there is a few good EG's about, you might need to travel a little futher though.

I am looking at them too...
