Heh, Im just using mine through the winter. :p Still think you should keep using it. :D

Watch that air filter through the winter! lol

O i will still be using it, just not as a daily drive!
I want to strip it all down and rebuild it while cleaning and cheacking everything is ok!
Just giving myself something to do really! lol

Blinx, dude, Ive said what it is.. this IS entirely made by hondata (the one I fitted into Tims car).
S300 is entirley made by hondata, although the factory ECU they would usually use is OEM OBD1.

the one in Tims car is a Hondata reproduced ecu basically a copy of the usdm oem P28.

damn, that's not how it was when they first came out, makes sense though, it must have been harder for them to keep finding core ecu's to upgrade. Well that certainly justifies the cost a lot more, i always hated the idea of having a 10+ year old ecu running my car lol... sorry for jumpin on ya man...

Its cool man, Theyre still doing them with OEM ecus also, these are just Limited edition versions. Who knows, it may take off big and they'll keep making these (hopefully) otherwise when they stop the price of these is going to climb.

I've got some really cool things on te horizon for the B-series, I'm sure you'll like too, gotta wait to see what im talking about though. :nice: I think youll be impressed m8

I just want to leave my car with you Will... just call me when its ready! lol!
Make sure you put my name on on of the s300s too, and my mate still wants to know when he can bring his B18 eg down to you... any luck gettin a proper workshop?

Hey dude, what's happening about mine? Do you have it in stock already or do you need to order it? It's OBD1 remember! I can send you the money for it now if needs be! Do you need to order a wire harness as well, if so, how much are they?

:)

you have a wire harness coming with your engine right? so you dont need that. as for hondata yours is on it way in the same shipment. dont worry its not going to anyone else. ive got a load more coming. Andys harness has been choppes and messed up so finding new to eliminate the hassle that comes wit a multi-chopped harness and his friend has has a b18c motor for in his Civic but no harness :)

We'll have to catchup somtime soon anyway dude. Would be cool. :nice:

cool, cant wait to see it :nice:

interesting thread, cant wait to see the dyno on the stock b16b optimised with hondata s300

Just as a quick update, the street-tune yeilded 153.xWhp with very conservative ignition numbers across the map. Ive left the car on the dyno since I got their late and have plans tonight.
I'll be spending some time tomorrow morning with the help of MR Eddy.Current(brake) ..only had time to strap it down and do a quick power run/det-check.

so from a couple hours street tune 7whp less than stock isnt bad going :p Ill have this finished tomorrow and post up a bunch of graphs and comparison graphs vs Stock ;) :nice:

Well after dyno-tuning, here are the results.

As you see the red line is the stock ECUs performance, and the smoother Blue line is Tim's EK9 tuned on Hondata S300. Theres gains across the whole rev-range compared to stock. I overlayed the stock ECUs' best run onto the same printout. Mid-range throttle response is very sharpe/responsive when you punch-it, we gained alot of torque near vtec too but with a smoother transition. Fueling was tuned using the eddy-current brake load-holding it for perfection. These cars are tuned pretty good from the factory. How many of you EK9 owners would llike to see more comparitive tests?

If anyones interested in Hondata for their EK9 then get in touch, this was totally stock with sensible ignition timing.

of course with mods more power can be acheived!..

And "tune-in" next week Ill be comparing the fuelling of fitting a De-cat and then showing the tuned benefits! ..how does it really affect fuelling?, what gains can be made with it? these questions will be answered, with PROVEN-POWER! :nice:

I'm going to go out for a drive tomorrow morning (roads between cottam and west burton power stations Will:D) and post up some thoughts afterwards.

What I've noticed already is that the 5800rpm VTEC point really suits my driving style. Knocking it down 200rpm has enabled me to slow down the gear change while still keeping it in VTEC in 3rd.

Looking forward to getting the de-cat fitted too. I don't want to splash out big money on an exhaust like I have done in the past. The stock system with a de-cat will sound awesome, I know it.
