So yeh, I've wanted one of these for ages.

When this one came up for sale with a silly amount of optional extras I just had to have it! The brakes are insane, carbon ceramic 6 pot 350mm x 34mm front brakes and 4 pot 350mm x 28mm rear.
The Bose surround system is epic too, far better than the Bose system in the alfa GTA.

So it's a 2008 Porsche Cayman S with the following option extra spec.

Car extras

-Adaptive Sport Seats
-Automatic Climate Control
-Bi-Xenon headlamps
-Carbon interior pack
-Bose Surround Sound System
-Full Leather Interior
-Cobalt blue metallic paint
-PASM suspension
-Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake
-Porsche Communication Management (PCM 2.1)
-6 disc cd changer
-Phone kit
-Oem iPod+aux connector
-Short shifter
-Sport chrono pack
-Sport steering wheel
-19" carrera sport wheels
-Luggage blind

Comments welcome :)

Bastard lol
I love these

Lucky, I hope to have one of these in the future.
What's it like?

Absolutely mega mate, I'm totally made up with it.

Feels as direct and poised as the s2000 but with proper grunt and pace. Feels special and great quality inside too :))

my mate has one in black, acceleration really surprised me. pretty rapid.

colour of yours is fantastic

nice one, the passenger doesn't look that impressed though lol

But it's not a 911...

Nice car!

Whats the power to weight on these?
Is it a lot quicker than the S?

Much quicker yes, 0-60mph 4.8sec tested, 0-100mph 11.8secs top speed 183mph.

There's a few places tested the standard cars around these figures, but tbh it's all about how it handles.

With exhaust, remap, intake and TB it takes power to 350bhp

2.2 vtec S2000 bhp per tonne 186.6
Cayman s bhp per tonne 233.3

Nice :nice:
Do you notice different handling characteristics to the S, being mid engined?
Hopefully if and when Honda bring out a new S it will have performance closer to this level.
I think if i was going to upgrade the S it would also have to be one of these

Tbh technically the S2k is mid engined as the engine is set behind the front wheels. It feels more stable and planted than the S2k, but still just as sharp and poised.
The s2k feels more raw, but the grunt this has makes it all so much more usable. I loved my S2k and definitely recommend it to any keen driver, I'd have to recommend the cayman s too, despite the short time I've owned it.

Yeah i guess so
Need to have a go in one I think.
Ive driven a 911 on one of those drive like a pussy track day things and considering it was bar far the cheapest car there i enjoyed it the most.
Any plans for it?
Sorry but I've gotta ask, what are adaptive seats?

Plans:-

-LSD
-Idp intake plenum
-gt3 throttle body
-Remap
-Track wheels and tyres
-Exhaust
-mk2 rear led lights

Basically fully electric seats with elec lumbar support and hard backed plastic seats.

Description:

The Adaptive Sport Seats give you all of the sporty feel of the Leather Sport Seats, all of the features of the Power Seats plus electronic control of the bolsters.

Features include:

Lumbar support, bottom, side and shoulder bolsters are pneumatically adjustable
Electric adjustment of fore/aft position, seat height, seat bottom angle, seat back angle.
Memory for seat and exterior mirror positions (bolster and lumbar settings can not be memorized)
Right side park assist mirror when in reverse
Seat backs are finished in a Volcano Gray hard shell

Benefits: These seats provide the best of both worlds, maximum sport and maximum luxury with near infinite adjustment abilities. These are the only seats available with adjustable bolsters, which may likely make them the choice for demanding drivers. The ultimate adjustability and memory functions make these a great pick for Caymans that are routinely driven by more than one person.
