Ste's Bronze FN2r GT **Car sold an gone**

some nice parts added! i feel a change of wheels will make a massive difference to the appearance, just not keen on these as standard!

How do you find the coilovers plus what model are they? I've just bought a 60 plate so looking for suspension mods had b14 bilstien on my last fn2.

They are supersports, got them cheap so was worth a try!
They are pretty compliant on the road on full soft definitely rides better than standard, on full hard they are much firmer than standard but you could still drive on them, just not hard driving on uk roads.

Yeh I know stoptechs are great, I just refuse to spend that much on a bbk, especially as you need spacers or new wheels too.

I'm tempted in retrofitting from a different car but I'll see how it goes.

So my new clutch had failed in 200 miles (now replaced with a exedy clutch)
Here's the pics of it!

Yep, not a type error. 200 miles.

The pressure plate just fell to pieces, it wouldn't select gears properly and got worse very quickly.
When I removed it you could see the same to the clutch and marked flywheel bolts.

So, fitted some accord type r calipers and discs as a small upgrade for the time being.
Did this on my s2000 (just the calipers) and found it doubled the pad life on track.
I'll see how it goes with the atr discs as they are slightly thicker being 28mm over the original 25mm which should help with cooling.

You got any pictures? Are the calipers any better than the standard ones?

Much bigger calipers and pads to suit. Doubled the pad life on the s2000 during track days.
Thicker discs should also help with cooling.

So, after always killing brakes on track I decided to invest in a big brake kit.
I wanted very high quality and the biggest I could get under standard wheels, so I was torn between ksport's 355mm kit or stoptech's 328mm kit.
On the face of it I was more torn towards the ksport kit due to its 355mm discs are also 32mm thick whereas the stoptech are only 28mm, the stoptechs promised better quality from the kits I'd seen and the research I'd done. I was disappointed to find stoptech didn't do a bigger version of the 328mm kit.

I also wanted the kit to have a floating discs, for ksport this was a optional extra whereas the stoptech is floating standard. Another consideration was to have a good choice in pads and disc replacement and obviously the cost of replacements.
Stoptech won this battle too, so the only thing making me want the ksport was the bigger and thicker discs.

So, I looked into stoptech kits available and found that they do a 355mm x 32mm the S2000.
I was convinced I could get to fit and splashed out £2000 for the kit, a little fabrication later and things are looking promising.

I've had to use some eibach hubcentric 15mm spacers for oem wheel clearance but these would be needed on any of the kits.

I'll update this once I've tryed them properly.

Fair play they look big have you tried fitting the alloy yet?

Well the stoptech bbk is on and working spot on. I've only done the one bed in session but first impressions are very good!
They look very big behind the oem wheels, I have had to relocate the stick on wheel weights as they would rub on the caliper!
I'm using the Axxis ULT pads so I'll see how they go, by the looks of things they are similar if not a bit worse than ferodo DS2500.

Thanks guys, just gave the car it's Xmas wash so thought I'd post a few pics up of how it's looking at the moment with the new brakes.

Decided that the factory candle headlights are too crap to live with, so ordered a hid kit.
Also ordered some better front pads for the stoptech kit, after lots of research I decided to give performance friction's new 08 compound a try.
Trackday booked 9th feb do we'll see how they get on.

Received and fitted my hid's. Went for 5000k Hids direct kit.
Massive improvement, should have done this as soon as I got the car.

Also received my new front pads, performance friction 08 compound.

Difference between hid and halogen bulb.

Difference between stoptech st40 pad, accord type r, s2000/ep3/fn2

Accord pads are a decent size!

Ordered a gp splitter pack for the car new from honda, already painted in the correct colour, look forward to fitting it.
