Just after some information on these kits (also performance gains etc), has anyone had the conversion done? also whats the better of the two kits to get.

Well im thinking about either doing one of those kits or going for the b18c from a JDM integra. (would the converted B16b be higher or less power to the std B18c)

You cant use the TODA stroker kit on the B16B. Its only for B16A. B16B is basically a destroked B18C. Youu can use OEM parts which is what those tuners use. B18C parts like rods, crank are fully balanced from factory

Like said above Toda kit is for B16a, Spoon kit is for B16b, gains and performance will be identical to an OEM integra type R engine.

Is it safe to use one of these Stroker kits? Can it damage the engine/car?

of course its safe, as long as they are installed properly and tuned properly.

Wow that's good to know. I didn't realise the B16B was a destroked B18C!

Learn something new everyday, there's another mod to the list :D

Thanks blinx

well I think I may invest in the spoon kit then, I presume it's all compatible with the b16b cylinder head. On to my next question is the b16b head better than the b18c?

The head is the same, the only difference is the b16b's more aggressive intake cam.

The B16B has shorter rod's and a different crank ,pistons and engine management, but apart from that it's the same as a jdm B18c in the teg type r

the b16b actually has longer rods, its the crank that affects the stroke.

do the oem b18c parts also fit... and what is the prcie of the spoon parts

on the 2000 model dc2 the intake cam is also the same. :secret:

JDM 98spec onwards all use CTR cams. Basically its a destroked JDM 98spec B18C.

Theres also no point spending so much on SPOON or TODA if you are just going to stroke it to 1.8 with 81mm pistons. Go for OEM(trust worthy) which are already fully balanced.

They are not balanced. Only Spoon offers OEM bits which are "selectively" balanced - they have literally hundreds of OEM pistons and hire one guy who measures their weight to the nearest gram and makes balanced sets.

well from what I heard and read and videos i've watched, is that the type R cranks rods pistons are all fully balanced. But by the time its running and oil is in there, balance is again thrown off. SPOON and TODA just further balance it to their specs. Really not much difference.
