Spoon blue ek9, work in progress

At the end of the day it's still an EK9 just in a different colour. And black is a pretty boring colour. :)
Looks good mate. When's the half yellow decals coming though?

Blue suits it I think.
I've often been tempted to respray cars a similar colour. Gotta love a bit of rich blue.

When you sell the b16b drop me a line - I'd quite like a spare for racing.

Thanks chaps.

FINALLY had a decent bit of weather, so I wanted to get a bit of shiney and protection on it. A couple of hours later and a bit of elbow grease and sweat....

And I discovered that its got a metallic in it too!

As for half yellow decals - not for me! ;)

John - sadly I won't be keeping it - all the bits that are coming off are going in as part of a MEGA deal. Sorry mate.
Also, I swapped the steering wheel out and sourced a set of mats, tyres arrived, now waiting to be contacted back on a set of wheels, as I have had absolutely ZERO luck in finding "the" ones I want, sadly.
And its still louder than a very loud thing. lol

EDIT:- Just waiting for another break in this crappy weather and I'll be trying to remove the 'ring sticker. Oh and I installed a better horn. HOW awkward is he OEM horn to get at??? They got half the front free and STILL they stick it in front of the rad. Pah.

nice colour if the bay was the same colour it would be alot nicer tho and the wheels need to go in the bin but thats just my opinion i like the engine plans

There IS an option to pain the 'bay, but I'm not sure as it'll just add to the cost. Its being discussed, though.

The parts are coming together or are en route, all have been ordered, so its now just a bit of patience until they all arrive. I also going to source and order some brembo blanks, RBF and waiting on info on a wheel nut solution. I'm not great at patience....... lol :((

Coming along nicely it seems. Will be keeping an eye on this :)

This car is like a cheap hooker, tbh i am shocked it sold. Billyzr was the old owner there is a few threads on this car. Used to have bride rep buckets, coilovers and a few bits and pieces. Good luck with the project man

Des owned it ~2 years ago, then that billy guy and Vtec direct also owned it, at some point.

Think it looks great in that colour dude! if it was done pre-import i guess any EK9 is fairly common to the Japanese ;p

Very much looking forward to what you do with it, Let me know if you're in the market for coilovers or any other little accessories we will happily help you along your way !

X2 :nice: People get a bit tetchy when you paint an ek9 non-standard colours, don't know why. I can understand with the Jordan because the colour is relevant.

Nice looking car though. Seen it on here a few times. I think there is another blue ek9 on here as well.

Cheers chaps. I like opinions and clearly it may upset some, especially purists, but it is what it is.
Adam - that's all sorted, ta.

Biscuit - find me some ;) They or regamaster evos are one my list of wheel I want..... 15 x 7, please!!! And not a million quid...

I'll be buying them if I do!

I think you could get a vinyl company to sticker up the yellow SPOON part, it would look ace.

You could buy yourself some green overalls & call yourself Tsuchiya!

Billyek9's old car, how many owners this car had in a year? Got to be 4 now?

Biscuit- just NO!! :p

Jesse, it appears so. IMA try to get hold of billy, I spoke to VTEC direct and des to try to get some history and a heads up on any potential shell issues... And I shall be keeping it a while with lots of work going into it. The work can only be done by one company, as no-one else has the extreme know how and contacts. For example, even the brake pads are a custom order, the suspension takes 3 separate companies, the bushes are custom madef From fancy material which has unique properties, complete exhaust, including manifold, is custom made to a strict flow / pulse model to match the pulses of the engine, same as the inlet. So its not "just" a load of parts bought and fitted. The vast majority are not available anywhere else.
Hence my initial inisitence of finding a clean shell at the right price. ;)
O and wheels source and bought yesterday. A set of VERY rare SSR 2 piece racing wheels. Bargain 2nd hand from a vw owner who was desperate for money, the unlucky bugger :(

Just old. ;)

I feel a bit of a plum in it at the mo due to the "louder than Concorde" exhaust thats currently on it, and I'm not a "look at me" kind of bloke, cos I'm too fugly.... :(
