Enjoy

maybe it's something to do with the weight? 900kg B-series vs 980kg k-series? Both sound sweet, would have either one of those any day

B18 was set up amazingly.

That was like one of the first kswaps too a ek9...

Think they done it to say they can do it...

You can tell the cars not been probly set up...

Wheels are too big along with the tyres.

If set up good I think it would be alot faster.

whats that with the whining sound on K20 when he lets go off the pedal?

It maybe the front outside tyre rubbing the wing, See some tyre smoke on the vid from 2.10 on when he dives on the brakes

Does anyone here boost type noises from the ek9 in the vid as if it was turbo'd?

That K20 9er is N/A. It's runnin 8.5" et 20 wheels up front and the tyres rub the over fenders, thats what the noise is. Alot of wheel to fit under a civic

THIS^^^

that b18 ek9 had year's of R and D, whereas the K swap was done to prove a point and was literally straight out the garage with no set up, hense running different wheels and tyre's, messing with suspension etc, as they were in the process of setting the car up.:win:

Another point; The bseries EK9 gearbox seems almost perfect for Tsukuba, the K series box is untouched apart from a 5.1 final drive IIRC.

Put the cars on Fuji speedway for example and I bet the Kseries would kill Bbaby.

How do you know this for fact?

Funny how it's those with k20's arguing the points. (not that i dont agree)

As 689r said, think its more to do with the track than the car. k series is the way forward, undeniable fact.

The B18 EK9 video is from Best motoring vol34, July of 1998 , the ek9 came out in August 1997.
The K20 ek9 was built early 2006, and the video above came out in April , 2008.

''Allegedly'' they couldnt get the handling setup to where they wanted so they sold up..!

just what i think from the video's. i've watched them over and over in the past.

i built mine in 2009, took a good few months to get the handling where i wanted it!

that whining noise when braking to me sounds like the LSD decel noise.
correct me if i'm wrong, but ive been in a few cars that have crazy lsd's with the noise also!
