Right where do I start here...

I've decided to put a for sale ad just on this forum for now simply for the fact that I'm no longer using the car until next year and it's tucked away in the garage and it's a pretty expensive asset just sitting there at the minute as the money could be used elsewhere currently due to just buying my first house. Even so I don't NEED to sell it nor do I NEED money it's simply just a thought at the minute. I change my mind almost everyday.

We currently have 3 cars and a van so there is really no need other than pleasure and a hobby for me to have the EK9 .. Don't get me wrong I bloody love the thing and I was desperate to buy another after my first 9' a few year ago, however it might be an idea to come crawling back in a few years once I'm fully on my feet with the house.

Many of you may know the car, it's been around for a couple of year and been through a couple of owners since the original build up. When I was in the position to buy an ek9 this time money was really no object and I wanted the holy grail of ek9's.. I was looking for anything from k20 to turbo'd to fully prepped track cars. I knew of this car a few year ago and absolutely fell in love. I managed to find it's whereabouts through Instagram believe it or not, it had passed through a couple of owners since its in excess of £20,000 spend was thrown at it by the original owner/builder. It actually wasn't for sale at the time and the guy who had it wasn't that keen on getting rid. He had it in storage and it was fully off the road. After many pesting messages we finally agreed a deal and I traveled down to Leicester to collect it.

Unfortunately it wasn't a credit to its former self and was in a pretty sorry state but I was so desperate for something mega exciting and had money burning a hole in my pocket. I saw potential and loved the way it drove and sounded. There was no doubt I was taking it home with me.. I did however pay well over the odds for what it was worth in that state at the time but I was just happy to get my hands on something and set about making it my own.

Over the next few months I spent quite a lot of time and money giving it a new lease of life. There would be no way I would ever build a ek9 turbo to this standard from scratch myself I couldn't throw that much money at an old civic essentially but with this the hard work was done it just needed a little love and attention.Anyway I won't bore you all with background story's etc.. Here's the link for a quick build thread I knocked together a few weeks ago so you can get an idea what's been done since..

http://www.ek9.org/index.php?threads/dales-black-b18-turbo-ek9.65875/

As you can see this car has been well looked after and no expense spared

- MOT I believe has expired but can MOT for a buyer no problem if a deposit is payed, doesn't bother me as it's off the road till at least next April if I keep it
- Tax is now irrelevant for transfer due to new DVLA rules used car buyers now have to purchase their own
- HPI clear
- 130,000 km's which is about 80,000 in miles so well under average
- No rust underneath and will show people underneath on jacks and axle stands if needed.

Its running 350bhp at the flywheel with 270 fpt @10psi of boost
Only runs on v power the fuel which it was mapped on.
Oil is mobil 1 10w 60

Really isn't for the faint hearted and needs to be treat and maintained with respect this is a serious car. It's really rewarding to drive and the handling is on another level, the steering is pretty heavy at low speeds and parking but it really comes into it's own and puts you in touch with everything going on underneath you, I highly recommend removed power steering for track/ fast road driving. Clutch is a paddle clutch so slow moving traffic can become annoying but that's not what you will be buying this car for. Its loud, very loud on boost when the screamer pipe opens. The 3 inch exhaust also helps wake your neighbours up when you start it up... non of this with bother you if your considering this car anyway it is what it is... still just about a road a car.

It's mapped very very well, the power comes in just right it doesn't just light up the tyres it just grips and grips and expels you well into the distance quite quickly. Rev counter seems to be a bit intermittent but not really bothered me as your too busy trying to hold on for dear life than to be looking down at the clocks.

I can provide videos of in car footage for serious long distance buyers wanting to travel.
This car is in really good condition and seriously needs to be viewed to appreciate it. However it does have a few battle scars, nothing major but it's not a show queen, it's a fast road track car and it's all about business.

In my time I've never had it on the track, I have intentions of quite a few track sessions next season if I decide to keep it.

I've only covered about 500 miles in the car since buying it, I really haven't had to time to enjoy it yet. I've literally just changed the oil and filter 50 miles ago. Oil on the dipstick is brand new. No play whatsoever in the turbo, will happily remove the air filter and you can check for yourself. Just had a new windscreen fitted along with a new seal due to a large crack, it took 4 different appointments and 3 different windscreens and seals before I was happy with what they fitted.

For serious buyers, viewings on dark evenings are not a problem, my garage is of a decent size and there's plenty room to move around the car and have a good look. It's been off the road for about a month now so it's not moving out the garage any time soon.
Currently on a battery maintainer in a nice warm heated and carpeted garage.

Please be aware I may have made a mistake in creating this for sale advert, I reserve the right to refuse the sale of this car at any point if I do see sense and decide to keep it which is entirely possible.

Currently toying with the idea of getting rid of one of our other cars along with the civic and buying an E46 M3 as a nice all rounder to fill both gaps but again thats just a thought at the minute.....

Feel free to ask any questions I'll have missed loads.

Cheers for looking,
Dale.

Im well aware I could break it for parts but as I mentioned I can happily keep this car should I change mind... my price is below ... its a bargain...

Very nice EK9 mate.

I'd be tempted to offer up my M3, but it's almost be a backwards step. Iv came from a 450hp turbo EK to the M3, part of me misses the Civic but the comfort and quality of the M3 makes me think different at times also.

Best of luck with the sale - I don't forsee you having much problems selling a car of that spec at that price at all.

Just had a look at yours! Wow! The M3 is just a car that could kinda fill both gaps for me and I can downsize to fewer cars clogging up the drive so it's got me thinking really it's a mega all rounder.. Nothing is gonna compare to a boosted ek9 for sheer thrills though but in an ideal world I'd have about 10 different cars for every occasion haha.

Thanks man

No problem Dale. M3 is pretty much the perfect all rounder. Comfortable, quiet, subtle, handles excellent and rapid for a factory car. Suppose it should be expected for a car that cost £50k new 10 years ago.

Any help you need in a hunt for an M3 let me know. It took me 6 months to find the one for me, a lot of dogs about now. Thanks for comment on my M3 too, Iv more up to date pics I need to upload - it looks the same but better pics show it off much better lol.

Cheers mate, keep your eyes peeled. I'm in no rush I don't need a weekend car till at least next spring if I sell this so I can spend plenty time searching for the right one :)

Yeap this happened to me mate Lol. When back to a EP3 no i dea why but love it although i have started looking at boost options.

OP this is one sick car, best of luck with the sale ;)

You say fully rebuilt engine, is the engine stock or any uprated bits used?

Who done the work on the engine and what was done?

What Tahir said....you have named every part on the car, any info on what parts the engine has been rebuilt with? guessing stock before its not been said? who did the rebuild? Proof of work with receipt?

This is pure Honda porn lol. If I had the money I'd snap this £8k is a bargain must have cost a LOT more to build.
@Tahir and @maclean2404 - valid question but I somehow doubt someone with this sort of attention to detail (look at the garage - impeccable!) would skimp on an engine rebuild... This car screams 3 things - enthusiasm, attention to detail and money.

The only thing I'm not too sure about is the way those harnesses are mounted!

Thanks for the comments, I didn't do the work to the engine in my ownership, the previous owner did. It's a rebuilt low Milage B18 i.e full refresh - gaskets, belts, water pump, seals, valves etc.. Fully stripped down and built back up before the turbo.

It's not a forged block, doesn't need to be at this power, it's really quite reliable and has been for some time. Speak to Ricky at racetech if your after background information as he knows the car and did a lot of the work including the fabrication and mapping etc.. He's been turbo'ing stock blocks for years as you probably know.

Email, PM or contact me on my mobile number if you want any more info.

Thanks
