Have just recently bought an EJ9 1996 1.4 civic. Clean car, but ill make this short,

> Im 17, going to go on my own policy.
> no NCB as first year of driving.

The best possible quote, £2677. FOR A 1.4!!!

Ridiculous, anyone agree?

try chris knott insurance.

i paid that much on my first year.

Have never even heard of that company, the best quote was from Quinn insurance, and from what Ive heard, they do pretty much free visual mods!

Means Ill be able to do a couple things and not mention suspension :]

if you are changing anything then you are better to tell the insurance company, ok they may charge you more but if you have a bump and there is something that they dont know about, they can declare your policy null and void

quinn is rubbish. google them find a number tell them your on ek9.org they will try give you the cheapest they can.

Agree cost is shocking but thats about what you will have to pay if you want the policy in your name. I spent hours looking at this.Try the compare web sites too . Insurance for 17 year olds has rocketed in the last year. They also changed the rules about putting your mum or dad on the policy and charge simply for the greatest risk.

try sky as well always been good for me and get an ek9.org discount:D

wow! that is expensive... its more than your EJ9's market value!!

Ok well I guess ill have to try some of the companies mentioned.

The car cost me £2000. Cant afford £2500+ insurance too!!

Did you not look at all this before you got the car!? Lol
Really don't think you will get cheaper then that
I pay 1800 and I'm 19 with 1 year NCB

I did look before I got the car yeah, I knew it would be around this.

Just thought maybe one of these companies on here (Sky, CK) would do it a little cheaper! Ill have to find out...

yo dean, sky wont insure you unfortunately as you have to be 21, try bell there quite cheap aswell

Wow, glad I don't live in the UK. I pay 750 a year for full coverage with a 500 deductible, 80 a month here in the states...
