Hi, picked up my EK9 last week, and going to give it a service while iv got some time off next week, so i now where its at. Any recomendations on where to get parts? Looking at oemjapparts.com, they seem good for filters and plugs, any where else people use? Going to dump the oil out the box too, obviously go to honda for that oil. Where can i get i can get magnetic sump bolt / gear box bolt from? And after reading the post on above on what oil to use i'm completely stuck, best to use semi synthetic i assume as i dont know whats already in there, but do i go for 5w30, 5w40 or 10w40? Just every day use, on 88k miles....

Cheers!

Go for 10W40 if it's a daily mate. I even use a semi synthetic with good results.

Filters from OEMJapParts come with a new washer for the bolt and I'm pretty sure you can get magnetic sump bolts from there aswell.

Ah cheers guys, where can i get a magnetic plug for the box though?

Oh ok! Great stuff cheers lads! Any more advise on oils? What are peoples opinions of running fully synthetic if i dont know whats been in it before?

It will be fine just drain it all out & get some silkolene 5-40 in there. :nice:

Wow thats a lot! Just had a quick chat with them, they confirmed the thread sizes are exactly the same,so may as well just get 2 of the magnetic sump bolts from oemjapparts for 6.99 each.

sump bolt is longer, stick it in your geabox and it will interfere with teh internals ouch!!

i got my plugs from mfactory :nice:

Oh...funky power said it was the otherway round.....now i dont know what to do lol

Yep can confirm the sump bolt is the longer one and the tranny is the short one, as i just did both engine and gearbox oil last weekend. I have a Blox set which is the same as most magnetic bolt out there.

A bit ghetto but i could always just chop the magnet down. As long as its clean when its in there thould be fine.

get the proper magnetic bolts of funky power. Change your gearbox oil and p/s, clutch and brake fluid too just to be on the safe side! Maybe new coolant too! get it all from honda, thats where I got mine.

iv already got a couple now from oemjapparts...just wandering about the length, have a thread in transmission section haha
