Some sensor spontaniously broke off, after I had put only very minor force on it to get it loose and after that hit the oil filter a few times with a hammer. Looks like this:

Which sensor is it? From what I've found so far this is the engine coolant temp sensor or the knock sensor. Anyways, it sucks, seems like there are 2 veeeery small wires (like 0,1qmm or something) that were soldered or something to the white part on the engine at the plug :/ How can I repair this best?

That's your knock sensor mate!:secret:

Best to just replace it with a new one or second hand one if you can find one!

Well, the shite thing is, the green plug should have come out, the black part should have stayed in. But that can easily be replaced? And how will it run when that sensor is not connected? Don't know when one will arrive here and my car has been standing still for a few weeks now...I want to put my engine in next week.

And will a B18c1/5 knock sensor fit my B16A?

f00k this, this is not the first problem with this ****, getting tired of it :/

a new one is 200 euro off honda.make sure when you get your new one you torque it correctly or it wont read properly and car wont run well.

lolwut, I'd rather have my ECU chipped then and have it turned off :p I'm gonna try to find a second hand. It's so damn much work to install it when your engine is already in...but hey, I really need my car. My lack of mobility really frustrates me and my gf (though she's not blaming me).

What will a JDM P30 do if it can't find my knock sensor? Will it just lit up a light or will it also retard my ignition?

i have a p30 ecu and there is no knock sensor on car and it runs

Yeah, but I'm talking about a JDM B16 ;) JDM B16A has different pistons which boost compression by .2 and the JDM P30 has a more aggresive mapping than other P30's outside of Japan.

Hey JT ime sure that ecu doesnt use the knock sensor. Has the ecu been chipped and mapped ? If the ecu did require the knock sersor it would just throw a cel. If you do by any chance need a knock sensor Omni power sell them for the b-series :))

know we know why oil filter removing tools where invented

Stock JDM P30 so it will use the knock sensor, why else would it be there :p

lol, I have one but I couldn't fit it there. I have to use a bigger screwdriver, I bent the one I used :X

Is it possible to replace the sensor without taking the intake manifold off if the engine is already in my car?

These sensors have very stringent torque specs. Over tightening can give off false readings to the sensor/ECM running the risk of false readings producing inaccurate timing adjustments.

Do it right and think of it this way, with the IM off you'll have the opportunity to install a Hondata IM gasket or something equivalent. Upgrade. :D
