Hi guys,

I've put this topic in here as it's related to sales.

I see time and time again people worrying about postage costs for large / heavy items and items to be shipped abroad (UK to EIRE etc).

I will just point you in the way of this website...

Cheap Courier Services - UK Couriers Companies

It is basically a reverse bidding website.

So you post up what you want to send, for example 4x alloy wheels and tires (Would cost loads via courier service).
You state where your item is and where it is going and you can also state how much your willing to pay and when you require this service.

Once you've done that people will bid / make offers to do it for you. You can accept, decline and talk to the people offering you the service.

I have just used this site to collect my old EK4 from a friend in London. The car has not been moved for 2 years so totally undrivable.

I managed to get the car picked up and delivered to me in Plymouth for £114.

Bids started at £190 and before that the cheapest I was offered elsewhere was £270!

Take a look as people travel all over the world and will do it for you cheaply! Just communicate with them and read thier feedback first and your sure to have a good service!

Hope this helps you out as it sure helped me out huge amounts!
:D

Thanks man, just registred and put my first shipment up for bidding.

Sweet. Glad you all find it good.

If people like it after using it and recommend maybe this could be made stickier than a fat kids fingers?!

At the moment I still have no attractive quotes....all really expensive. But we'll wait and see :)

are they all registered courier companies/?? as i can act as one and pick the item up(eg aloys) and just go and never deliver it... so i got your money and the items you want delivered....just a thought

It will taek time to get lower quotes.

Mine was up for a week and went down from £200 to £114.

Most are registered traders with company numbers and VAT numbers.

But feedback is a good way to go on here. Also, it is all dealt with through the company (Shiply) who act as the 3rd party ombidsman so your covered. Just like eBay are there to cover you when bidding / buying.

:)
