S2000 or 350z...???

s2000's are actually quite quick. Just so happens most people that drive them are poncy idiots who dont know what to do.

S2k with spoon panel filter and spoon catback vs dc5 with toda mani, titanium catback n mugen intake.

the dc5 was the tiniest bit faster in a 60-120 blast.

same s2k vs 205bhp b20 ek. s2k was quicker in any gear

an s2000 would destroy a b16b ek9. 350z is for posers.

This forum is great.... a lot of replys. Very greatfull once again.

Im slightly put off with the engine problems in the s2000 to be honest but do like the look of them...

So any of you guys recommend any other car thats worthy of a blast???

How about Mazda RX8??? I want a nice car and different.... nothing chavvy!! (i know the RX8's are common).

Why is the 350z out of the question? If you're not into doing loads of trackdays and it'll be seeing mainly road driving I would have thought it would be right up there with the best of them. The fact the S2000 is lighter means it's more agile with less breaking distance etc. but you'll never see the difference on the road.

There's no doubt that the 350z is just as able as the S2000 on the track too, there are lots of videos of the 350z vs S2000 and there isn't ever much in it even when driven on the edge.

just my pennies worth but from experience the 350 is very at home on a track and by no means slow either :) the build quality on 350's is good aswell. They are quick when they wanna be, and because of the larger engine the torque is there etc. Get on you tube and search 350z with the amuse titanium system lol that'll convince anyone to buy one :)

i love the s2k but didnt think they were that quick. And my mate had a 350z i didnt like it at all and he got betten by a stander dc2 in it. I would deff have a s2k thought

The fairlady hav more power than the s2k as they are both standard. And depending type of driving style u want to do with it.
Aso i know the 350 will cost u more fuel to run than the s2k. My friend had one for 6 months then gave up on them. And they will cost u more money to tune them as well as these parts are so experience for the fairlady.

I aint to sure on the S2000 engines but my mate a nissan mechanic he says the 350z are a fair few problems depending on the model.

I'd watch if your looking at imports some of the imports have basically nothing on them Lol ;)

i've been in an S once i felt that my b18 had more torque lol
Yeah, apart from statistics, I found the S2k to be lacking in terms of fun and experiencing speed when talking about straight lines. My B16A feels way quicker (even though it is not :p ). From everything I've read (disclaimer I haven't actually driven both cars) this is how I think about it:

S2k
+ Very good handling
+ VTEC/9k rpm
+ After all those years still looks like a car that could have been designed today
+ Lighter than a 350Z

- Lots of engine problems, fragile engine
- Feels really slow in a straight line (again, not saying it is, just saying it feels like it)

350Z
+ Torque everywhere
+ The exhaust sound, even with stock exhaust
+ Comfy

- Quite a bit heavier - makes it less nimble

Tbh, the only thing that would put me off for a 350Z is the weight, S2k feels too slow for me and the fragile engine...nah, I wouldn't see myself owning one.

But then again, you have to drive both and decide for yourself.

Very good post. Has everything in it needed! good going :)

How about one of these instead?

With 1250kg, a 250bhp turbo four pot and striking looks I think it beats the 350Z and the S2000 hands down, but I guess the turbo can swing it for the NA purists...

I love them personally and I am trying to decide whether I should buy one or not, I could afford the repayments on one, but I'm not sure if I want to go from my cheap to own EK4 to something which costs £300 a month just to have on the road.

Mind you, if I keep that mindset I'll never change my car...
