Hope u can get the EK9 Spoon Cluster to make it perfect !

The EK9 Spoon cluster is very rare item........i have my EK4 for 8 years and i had heard/saw one for sell like 2 times........Anyway i think my DC2 Spoon cluster will do it for now!!

Your car was soooooooo nice :win:

Very nice project!! Love the spoon cluster. And the mugen bushings too! where did you get those? The car looks real nice congrats on it. But I have to say it was also nice before the new project.

Excellent project and great attention to detail well done.. Can I ask where you buy the new rubbers though? They are too expensive from honda here...

I sourced all the parts locally here in HK, some of it i had to order from Japan, other they have it in stock.

hm.....actually......the colour of both rear quarter was little off due the last paint problem and i was tire of the pre-facelift front end. So i changed to facelift version of front end and then decided to completely repaint it again so the colour will match nicely.

Yeah all those Honda new parts cost alot but the old rubber really getting aged..... Oh back to the point all the new Honda parts that i order through local part store (where they import the parts direct from Japan so they are not going through the Honda authorized local Honda dealer. If order it through authorized Honda dealer the price will be alot more)......For example some parts that cost me below (in HKD).......Please note (1 Pound ~ 11 HKD)

- Windshield molding ~$520
- Both roof molding ~$480
- Door upper molding ~$700
- All 6 side molding (rear quarter, door, fender) ~$800

Tonight after work i decided to start to remove the suspension parts,

Put front end of the car on jack stand,

Removed the stock EK9 shock and spring, but i don't have the tools to loose the axle nut. I am going to get some new socket and breaker bar,

From the above picture, i can still see the original red colour!!

The following parts will replace the old parts from the above picture. The 2 Mugen bushing are for the lower arm, the other Honda parts are EK9 parts.

Hopefully i can get all the suspension parts separate....it is pain in the ass to separate it........If i can get it all apart, i shall be able to get the lower control arm bushing replace on Saturday by machine shop. Then i can start putting it back together.

As for the Spoon calipers, i need to get it on and see how much spacer is need because even with 15" +35 offset Spoon wheel, it won't clear it........then i can decide on the brake disc.

very nice mate coming on really well!!

Keep it up!

Thanks, alot more is coming!!

would look awesome with a 5 stud conversion

I don't plan to put 5 stud on mine........due to the 4 stud Spoon wheel i have. Also my other Civic is 4 stud too, so i can switch wheels more easy. With the 5 stud, i would be look exactly like a EK9.......

Some new tools that i bought for removing the front suspension components,
- 32mm socket
- ball joint remover
- 2 ton hydraulic floor jack with max. height of 450mm (the old that i have is junk)

also i was little creative on removing the axle nuts!! It took me more than an hour to figure out how to remove it.........inexperience in this case!

The old bushing is not broke but it shifted (where the front suspension mount to the lower control arm)

I have the Mugen bushing installed on the front lower control arm today, very happy with it.

I bought a set of Neuspeed Speed with Bilstein Shocks comb coilover and i have it complete disassembled and checked for any leak. The condition of the shocks are good and i cleaned it with some WD-40 on the thread. It is quite light compare with stock EK9 suspension.

I should be starting to put it back together soon.........

It has been a while since the last update,

During the re-assemble the lower control arm, i found that 3 out of 4 CV joint boots are cracked (but not leaking/break yet) so i replaced all 3 cracked CV joint boots with OEM Honda parts!! I found that all 3 cracked CV boots had never been replace.......i can't believe it lasted 13 years.
