Rat Look EK9


SOME euro cars are trash yea, vdub isnt trash and nor is audi. its the **** little euro hatchbacks that are crap
yea maybe its an enthusiasts car but there are enthusiasts for every car in the world (pretty much)

I disagree. How often do you see an RX-7, Supra, Skyline, DC2, DC5 on the roads, even the more basic models?

The EK9, whilst it is a high performance japanese sports car, is none the less based on a very common chassis - the cars you mentioned above are not. Do you realise how many civic's have been sold in this country?

So now we're looking at the same story as the likes of the hot Saxo's/106's/Clio's/etc - Sporty versions based on a common chassis.

Added to that, 5 years ago I had only ever seen EK9's in the flesh at car shows - I now see them on a quite regular basis on the roads. I don't like the fact that they are becoming commercial, but may as well be realistic about it... There's definately some truth in whats been said about them becoming the next...

And I hate to say this, but you really are a narrow minded fool if you're gonna group all euro cars as shite. Either than or you're just saying it to try and make a point. Either way you're way off the mark.

Forgive me if this offends you but thats quite a narrow minded thing to say, if we didnt take influence from other genres and take risks and try things we'd all (not I) would be driving around in samey champion ship white EK9's.

Its not my style at all, i dont really like the look of it on the EK9 but on the Estate i think it works well, its different :D

As i said its not something i'd do. but nevertheless, Good Effort for trying something new! :D
 
There's basic versions of the DC2 & skyline, would you still rat it up?

Like I said, EK9 is an enthusiast car, "I" myself just don't see the point of making a EK9 look like it's just came out of a scrap yard. You wouldn't see a Ford focus RS ratted or a Audi S3?

It gives the wrong impression of what this car is made for. Fair enough, everyone has different taste, alot of people don't like this rat look, some people do. Everyone has different opinions.

Maybe you see a few 9's, I never do, and I'm sure others don't too. :)

I'm into all cars Vdub etc. . . One of my friends has a Vdub. And when I was referring to "shite euro cars" was meaning saxo's, clio's, and what not. ;)

Anyway, as long as people keep pushing 99 face lift EK9's out at £4,000 they will become common :D

Dude, I never said you can't do what you want, so stop putting words in my mouth. Dead right, anyone can do what they want if they paid for it, I didn't say they couldn't. Ask yourself why there is a lack of ratted S3's & RS's. :angry:

Let's look at this rusty hood ek9 for what it is. Not a messed up, wannabe rat-rod EK9, but an ek9 with a rusty hood.

It's not like the hood is some super rare EK9 specific part. This is one of the most reversible body mods I've seen.
So I don't think it's that big of a deal, but it is kind of stupid. Some of the "top dogs" at US honda shows have done this rusty hood thing to be different and say "**** the haterz".
But really, 95% of people who see this mod ARE haters.
 
well guys i think its called "Rat Look" for a reason, i guess there are just different strokes for different folks.
cant actually love it or hate it unless you are doing it. we have to keep an open mind about it all. remember the muscle car guys making such a big stink about "imports" and all the trash they talked about 4 cylinders.... now a days most of them have come to love our cars.
you never really know where the scene is going i guess.
but for me i am going to keep my hood painted white.
 
Just read this. I have nothing against the owner. I actually like it But only because it makes my car look so much better:p Im the Opposite to most of you guys I want people to wreck there EK9s add horrible bodykits/Bad rims etc as it just makes mine more exclusive on the road Even though I have yet to see one around these parts. Im sure the OEM bonnet will be back on this puppy after a few months

Bet if it had a B18 you would be *****n in your pants tae! I'm not impressed by a B18 wot so eva, could have had one twice but I enjoy my 16 much much more!

EK9's are not becoming common and if your not happy about it then get another car. That way you wont have to be part of a forum thats getting a bad!:p
