Hi im looking for some ideas on how to have my interior, im looking for a race spec lightweight interior.

If you have any pictures that will give me ideas would be great

Cheers
Sean

light weight = As little as possible in the car. So why add door cards ??

lol!
Get rid of everything.
Only things you should have in front of you are
steering wheels
clocks
Gearstick
Rearviewmirror

Well you will find that certain classes of competition require you to actually have door cards in place. Also it makes the car look alot neater. Personally I dont have anything in my car, no dash no heater, miminal wiring etc etc, but this is one idea for the OP to look at. Each to there own really aint it.

Without blanking plates like those shown the doors look awful with all the gooey stuff etc. attached to them.

I make a full GRP dash saves just over 15kgs compared to standard ek dash :)

Also custom make switch blanks and panels for track and race cars

enjoy

Depends on how serious you want to go. But literally carpet out, seats out, replace the drivers seat with a fixed bucket and harness, remove lower dash panels and glovebox, headliner, rear seats, all the plastic panels in the rear and front, replace electric windows with lexan windows and remove door cards, remove the stereo and speakers and replace with din blanking plate. Erm yeah that's mostly everything, but if it's still a daily driver you're going to be in for a very noisy and rough ride.

can u still use all the heaters, c.d player etc

If you want to use all the OEM controls, then why bother with a new dash?!

It's just meant as a light-weight (and not much lighter I doubt if you cut away all the metal on the dash) alternative to easily mount kill-switches etc.

Yes mate the roof bungs are MSA approved.

My Dashboard weigh 3.4kgs Standard Dash with no headunit and all other controls weights 18kgs.

not only is it made for weight saving but the ease of mounting controls where you want and use of a race display

Cheers for the ideas guys, love the look of the dashes Shaun may be interested in one :) and also i agree on the door blankers..they look horrible once the door cards are off

because i want a flocked dash and these look good at a fairly good price but i still want to be able to use the oem components and c.d player as i'll b using my car on road and track, plus i'll still be saving around 10kg and if i come to get a cage fitted i won't have to chop up my standard dash

Flocking a standard dash is less than £100 and there isn't much chopping involved to get a standard dash around a weld-in rollcage, far less chopping than for heater controls, air-con, CD player, air vents etc. with a GRP one.

Here's a picture of a our standard EK9 dash flocked with a Custom Cages weld-in cage:

Fair enough mate, so do you flock dashes yourself?
