Hi guys,

I have an ek9 rx and was just corious how the keyless entry is supposed to work on them. Mine did not have a fob or anything when I bought it just two keys. Do I need a fob? I am only wondering as it's just one of the features the rx has and I couldn't see how it would work without a fob or something of the sort.
Thanks Marc

I'm in the same boat too, I have keyless entry but not the fob for it. They cost £100+ from Honda new and then £30 to have it all set-up.

is there anyway how you know if you have keyless entry? i have my two keys, and mine is an Rx according to Dunc.
one solution for this is to just use the keyless entry thats on your CAT1 (if you have one that is)

Same here just assuming it's in the car. There is no way to actually know if you have it or not without it being set up. Cheers for the info guys, stops me wondering about it.

:lock: I solved this problem using this kit from Hawk Alarms
assuming your driver door locks and opens you passenger door with the key. then the motors are in place
The acctuator fits inside the driver door and pushes/pulls the rod the same direction as the key would. Even the lights work (pop out the hazard light and wire to the appropriate wires to that)

Bit of home wiring required but what a repair/upgrade costing only £27
Haynes wiring diagram made it easier
PM me if you need help with this

HAWK UNIVERSAL REMOTE UPGRADE SYSTEM
2 WIRE SLAVE DOOR MOTOR <this is the acctuator

If it has the original Rx remote locking you will see a small black dome thing (about the size of a Malteser) by where the rear view mirror fixes to the roof. Normally a Rx has the chassis number starting with a 120****.
If you can find someone breaking a Rx just buy the fob and the locking relay inside the drivers door. Plug it in and all sorted.

I tried tracking one down, there aren't many Rx's being broken :angry2: Even less common to find one with a fob :((

If you know of anyone that has a CAT1 alarm on there car they will not need it (the fob). Send them your relay and get them to send you the fob and matching relay.

I got my fob in my kitchen draw as I fitted a cat 1. Surly you all have alarms fitted hence the fob is no longer needed. It's rubbish anyway you have to be right next to the car for it to work.
