considering getting one for my car

anyone got any experience with them?

Hondata have made them for adges, IF you can get it to seal then would help intake temps a bit.....

I used one, my Intake manifold cracked, i don't know if the gasket was to blame but i took it off for good measure and replaced it with an OEM unit, i know RagingAngel has head loads of success with them, i personally will never use them again...

thats very strange...
where it cracked ?
maybe you tightened your intake very hard
still very strange !!

I installed a Hondata IM gasket without any problems. I've read reviews where they don't increase hp/trq but they do what they're advertised to do which is decrease the air intake charge. Plus they are reusable so whats not to like about them.

I used a King Motorsports extended stud kit to go along with the Hondata IM gasket to allow all the studs to seal properly.

I even went as far as installing a similarly designed TB gasket designed by inlinefour.com and i've had zero problems with it aswell.

spend a little more money and get the one from outlawengineering.com

It's a complete kit that insulates all coolant heat sources and comes with extended studs too.

blinx...I think you tightened things too much.

hmm interesting how is the outlawengineering.com one working for you?

personally I don't have it yet on my DC2, I'm using the original Hondata gasket with the coolant port blocked off (this requires a bypass to be performed) but my friend ordered one just a couple of months ago and is loving it on his JRSC setup.

Works really well.

Who knows, i was working on the car with a buddy, he handled the tightening of the side that cracked but i didn't want to place blame, i dunno...

Blinx where did it crack ? i had the same problem with my inlet mani it cracked where the coolant hose goes. I got told its because it mite of warped due to the temperature going hot to cold all the time.

Happend the same to me and to a friend.
And another thing about hondata gasket they deform with the heat.

OEM is the best.

they do not deform with heat.

I've done dozens of these installs and I've yet to have any problems with this specific part.

They've been installed on street cars, track cars, full out race cars, drag cars, you name it, they've been installed and have had no issues with cars with little 100bhp engines to 1000bhp monsters.

Anybody considering this mod is certainly something I have no problems recommending provided you buy the quality gaskets from hondata as I have no experience with the copies out there.

If you're talking about the **** that melts then maybe some unscrupulous dealer supplied you with a fake gasket.

Outlawengineering for me too, thick quality material, does not deform and proven lower temperature.

Yep very easy to install if you can follow directions on torqueing procedure and what not. For a gasket that is reusable its a steal of a deal. Recommend it soley on that. :nice:
