Preface lift or facelift?

Who ever told you that is yanking your chain a little. Prices seem pretty consistent in Japan, may have raised a little over the last few years, but exchange rates have fallen substantially since 2013, meaning that the prices should be cheaper at the moment. For example, I imported a car early 2013, and another in December 2014. The car I imported in 2014 was 15,000 JPY more than the car in 2013, and cost me £1200 less overall.

What I'm trying to say is, 8k for the kind of car you are looking at is a serious amount of money. If I were in your shoes, I would have a look at what is for sale in the UK. There are clean examples that come up for sale, usually on here, for between 5-6k. Save yourself a couple of grand and spend it elsewhere, track time, modifications, a holiday, whatever. Obviously it is your money and your choice, but I would think about it before paying that much.

Are you non vtec right? its understandable you not happy to give so much money for a car like this. Maybe if it was a mint Well tuned AE86 anout this price you would think and think... ;-) these ek9 are not simple Hondas

Fljoshua129 I understand were your coming from mate but the way I have been seeing these cars go at auction is mental and for mental money, I'm after a pretty standard car so I can add my own personal stamp to it. Yes I know what you mean by price has come down and exchange rate is good at this moment in time but no one is selling these cars in this country clean without rust or had stupid modifications done to them.

I thank you for the advise mate as that's why I am on here to gain advise from people.

Yeah I know what you mean. I much prefer a fresh import to be honest, but the prices Torque are quoting are questionable! Mint OEM 9s that come up for sale are few and far between, but I personally wouldn't close the door to that option.

Have you tried type-r-dunk? He has imported the majority of 9s into the UK. I believe someone else on here was looking to get one imported, and his prices seemed to be much fairer.

I agree... I think it is obscene that someone will pay 25k+ for an R34 GTR without VTEC!! :alone::alone::alone:

The point I am trying to make is, with exchange rates dropping over the last few years, prices are coming down for us in the UK. This is regardless of whether you are importing an ek9, gtr, or a pair of hearing aids for your nan.

I visited Duncan at his house close to Reading one year ago. At that time i hadn't enough budget. If i knew this i would be more patient and spoke more to him.
