Hi guys, im looking to replace my RE01R`s on my EK4 and since i cant find any more ive brought my search down to the two tyres above. i live in ireland so we get all seasons in one day :angry2: so i need a good allround tyre thats good in the dry and at least half decent in the wet.

im planning on a set of dedicated track tyres so these will not or very rarely see the track. So what are your opinions on the tyres i have shortlisted? im on a tight budget so if there are any other options you can think of they would need to be in this price range.

Thanks in advance guys :nice:

Can you still find RE-720? I know that they are off the market! I would recommend toyo t1R. Great performer!

I will go with the Eagle F1, they're a over all good tire, and I've read a lot of reviews on the re 720 a lot of users mentioned that they found serious tire wear at the edge of the tire after 20,000 miles.

Also the Eagle F1 handles good in the wet and dry. The RE-720 handles a little better in my opinion, but I'm pretty sure the eagle F1 are cheaper than the potenza.

Any of these tires is a good option, but if your budget is low go with the eagle f1 :) and get advan A048 for the track :nerv:

gsd3 is known for great performance in wet and dry

are you referring to these ones?

I know that they have stopped producing them for some time. However you can always find some stock tyres somewhere. I had the f1s and i disliked the thing that they were too softy. After 2-3 uphills they were completely off. Great in water however and as regards breaking.
The main negative as for re-720 is that they need some time to reach the appropriate working temperature, in contrast to f1s

Have a look at re-750

i dont rate TOYO TR1's at all, iv had them on the front of my car for only 3,000 miles and there nearly illegal they'v worn down so much :( iv never taken my car on a track and i dont even use VTEC much so i cant understand why

ProjectGTR what do you have for a wheel size? The Eagle F1's only come in 16" and up sizes, to my knowledge.

Most bridgestones wear very quickly because of low tread wear like 140, so you seem not to care about a quickly wearing tire. Have you thought of the Kuhmo MX?

thanks for the input guys :nice:

yep thats them, would you rate the re750 over them??

i have the f1's on my stock rims and they are only £50 each
i bet the bridgestones are double that
get the eagles. everyone overates the bridgestone tyres for twice the price your barely getting any more performance.

projectgtr bare in mind that re-720 is not a new tyre. Actually they must have been on production for more than years now! I would go for the new 750. Check prices as well! In Greece re-720 were very cheap! 195-50-15 cost less than 230euros the set of 4.

Kuhmo MX?

Goodyear Eagle F1's come in 15's, i've had them before on a van, i personally like Avons Z3's for an all rounder of a tire!
