Possible poor mpg

Hi all what sort of mpg do people get from their b16s? I have an ek4 sir and I'm getting about. 160 miles from 30 quid of v power. which is about 35 to 36 litres this is doing only short runs of 5 to 20 miles a day and it's mainly normal driving. I have recently fitted so new ht leads and have just noticed that it seems to be eating fuel cheers for your help.
 
Spark plug wires will not adversely affect your mpg, we have had many threads on MPG in the past, the average ek9 or ek4 gets about 25mpg and thats driving it hard every now and then.
 
if you are worried change out the o2 sensor - i used to get about 140 miles to 20 quid when i still had the b16
