hi guys i dont post much but i need an answer fast. i need new tyres yesterday really ha . i am looking at buying four new bridgestone tyres . the RE040 ones in 215/45/16..all i am interested in is grip. i know they are very expensive but i dont mind this.. i just want them to be right .. they are goin on integra 98 rims but it is a 9 i am drivin.. how do you rate these..oh and i live in ireland so yes there will be alot of wet weather!the car is my daily driver and although i drive hard and love the twisties i never track the car...your replys will be greatly appreciated. thanks...

I'd go for toyo r888 if your looking for grip

i really rate yokohama parada spec 2 as i had them on a few cars and i just love them! good grip all round i thought.

needs to last me a while though and they wouldn be much use in the wet :(

the 888 are fine in the wet. When they started wearing quite badly then they became terrible in wet.

R888's are ok in the wet but not good if there is alot of atanding water. pluss will wear out faster than an normal sports road tyre.

get T1R's or parada spec 2's or something simmilar for every day driving.

i am under the impression tho that both these have soft side walls. would the pirelli zero nero in 205/45/16 be any good ...is the tyre i originally suggested not worth gettin ??the bridgestone potenza RE-040???

heard good things about the hankook rs2 dont know if available in that size though

Sorry just seen you've got 16inch teg wheels... Check their other sizes out, still very good prices :)

I've got 15inch teg wheels haha! teg wheels for the win!!!

You wont notice any kind of soft side wall effects as yuou put it in teh bends on the roads.

You will only noticw such a thing in consistant, agressive timed laps on a track.

Don't waste money on track based tires for road use.

The T1R's, Parada's and RS2's would all be perfect for the level of grip you require.

For fast road grip a softer compond is better but will wear faster depending on how you drive.

But also (not having a dig) anyone asking what tires are best for fast road bends and ultimate grip shows me that they don't really know much about the gripping capabilities of the standard tires as they haven't really pushed it to the limit or probably even close to it. Again...not having a dig at you.

It's just teh same as people putting coilovers on their cars. Looks good but wont be used to the full potential unless its put on a track and really pushed.

Good luck with the tires choice.

no your right mate i dont know how hard it can be pushed and thats why i want enough grip to make sure i dont find out ha thanks for the reply i think i will try one of them tyres ...also one more question ..is there much difference in 215/45/16 and 205/45/16????just checking as the bridge stones on it at moment are 215:nice:

dont be perswaded, R888 are a summer, dry weather tyre

for a road car in the wet they are usless, standing water is downright scary,,

horses for courses:

cut slicks for track

full tread for road,

its as simple as that!! if your driving so fast on the road thet you need r888`s on an ek9 to corner then your not driving with due care and attention,
