i have a 1994 b16a2 eg9 vti civic and i took out the engine, gearbox, loom ecu...im putting it into my 97 ek civic coupe.......is this a direct change as im not too far yet??? there is a box in the boot of my eg with wires coming from it...is this like ecu for the abs??? will the eg clocks fit into the ek??

Can you post a photo of the box in the boot?

With loom ecu you refer to complete engine wiring harness ?

I think you shouldn't have any issues at all, what ecu are you going to use? I assume the same one from the EG9 ?

Was the coupe a non-vtec engine before? If it was then your Eg9 loom will have to be modified as its a two part loom on those with a seperate loom going to the firewall mounted MAP sensor and EVAP solenoid. If it was a vtec coupe and you have the loom my advice would be to use that rather than your eg9 one

out of the eg9 i am using the engine ,gearbox ,loom ,ecu ,all round discs, ,shocks, so the mechanical part of my non vtec coupe is made up of all vti parts......

what is ment by modifiying the loom???

Add more wires. As you wont have any wires in the main engine loom for your MAP sensor and EVAP solenoid.

Your stock loom in the coupe will need to be used as the car is obd2a. The eg loom will be obd1. You'll have to add wires to the Coupe loom as said above. Then get an obd2a to obd1 conversion harness to use the ecu from the eg. Wires you have to add are vtec pressure switch. Vtec solinoid, Repin the iacv at the ecu end of the loom. Put a 2 pin plug on the iacv at the other end. Move your O2 sensor to the back of the engine. All this is easy to do when the motor is out of the car. Hope this helps. I think I covered everything but if not I am sure some one will point it out. LOL
